Topic Tuesday {digital photos}

The age of digital photography has always been my nemesis.  At the beginning I simply disliked the look of the photos that digital cameras produced.  A few years later (after I stopped developing my film and got with the times) I loathed the time that I would spend in front of the computer editing photos.  I would have much rather been in a dark room with the smell of developer filling my nostrils.  Now that I’m fully immersed in the digital photography realm I find that I never print any photos!  Like, none.  Ever.  Zip. Zilch.

Way back before Christmas I mentioned that I wanted to get some of my phone pictures printed.

Truly, 2012 will always be known as the year of the phone picture.  I use to scoff, mock and try to shame anyone who simply used their phone for photos.  But my husband shared the motto with me, “The best camera is the one that’s with you.”

I didn’t like it but he was right.  My phone was always with me to pick up on all the little things that happened through the year.  From someone looking so cute as they fall asleep in the back of the truck to random walks along the river.  I don’t always haul my ‘big camera’ along and so all the good shots from the year were on my phone.

In fact, most of them were on Instagram.  So I wanted to print them out before I decided to delete my account.

There are a ton of companies that do this so I just simply chose one.  I needed to start somewhere!  They arrived super quick and, while they aren’t THAT great of quality, that’s my fault because they were taken on my phone.

I love that even the poor quality captures something of this year for us.  We’ll always remember that these were taken on iPhones and our grandkids will be asking, “What’s an iphone?”

I’m pleased with how they turned out!  Here are a few.
