I think that character is the sum total of what makes a person them, in particular, as opposed to someone else. Each moment, event, word spoken – loving or harsh – hug, tear, terrifying feat, or mundane task added all together make up a big part of who you are.
I also think that we all have convictions but it is not merely the having of these convictions but the living out of them that gives us strength of character.
2 of my sons have shown incredible strength of character this week. In fact, a living out of their convictions in such a bold way that I’m not sure I could have done it.
It is for moments like these that all of the training and instructing and sweat and tears feel worthwhile.
It is moments like these that help me to keep on when my wits are near to their end.
